Denpasar – The STIKOM Bali Institute of Technology and Business (ITB) is the only PTS in Bali to receive grants from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) Republic of Indonesia’s Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) worth more than IDR 1.2 billion. Director of Center of Excellence ITB STIKOM Bali Dr. Roy Rudolf Huizen, ST., MT met at his campus in Renon, Denpasar (29/8/2022) explained, for this PKKM ITB STIKOM Bali took part in a competition in the League 3 category based on the number of active students.
It was stated, the determination of recipients of second-year PKKM assistance batch II and recipients of PKKM assistance for the 2022 fiscal year batch I was stated in the Plt. Director General of Research and Technology Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc. Ph.D number: 0544/E.E3/PM.00.03/2022 dated 5 July 2022. “This is an achievement thanks to the struggle and good cooperation between the Center of Excellence and the Faculty of Informatics and Computers, especially the Information Systems and Computer Systems Study Program, said Roy Rudolf Huizen.
According to Roy Rudolf Huizen, previously the ITB STIKOM Bali submitted activity proposals to improve the quality of lecturers, students and laboratory support facilities. Selection is done through several stages, (1). Administrative Evaluation, (2). Evaluation of Proposal Quality and Feasibility, (3). Feasibility Verification, and the final stage is determining the winner. As a result, the total grants obtained by ITB STIKOM Bali amounted to Rp. 1,235,960,000, with details for the Information Systems Study Program receiving Rp. 516,650,000 and the Computer System gets an allotment of Rp. 719,310,000.
Roy Rudolf Huizen explained, with this grant, the program that will be carried out by the Information Systems Study Program is “Improving the Quality of Graduates through Understanding the Concept of Intelligent Data Analytical and Computational Technology (IDACT) and Developing the Competence of Lecturers and Students in the Field of Big Data Computing and Visualization (BDCV)” . While the Computer Systems study program will carry out activities “Improving the quality of graduates through understanding the concept of smart and secure technology (SST) and developing the competence of lecturers and students in the field of cyber defense and forensics (CDF)”.
“Essentially, from the budget of more than IDR 1.2 billion earlier, 50 percent will be used to help finance student internships for three months, improve the quality of lecturers, and procure laboratory support facilities, the remaining 50 percent will be for governance,” explained Roy Rudolf huizen.
Furthermore, Roy Rudolf Huizen said that 2022 was indeed full of achievements for ITB STIKOM Bali. Because apart from obtaining the PKKM grant, ITB STIKOM Bali also received a grant from the Kedaireka platform, the Ministry of Education and Culture, in the form of funding assistance for a matching fund program worth IDR 900 million to empower lecturers and students.
Roy Rudolf Huizen said, the lecturer who proposed the proposal and succeeded in obtaining the grant was Dr. Gede Angga Pradipta, ST., M.Eng with the title “Development of an Integrated Executive Management Information System (Simeta) in the Governance of Government Business Entities”, and lecturer Ricky Aurelius Nurtanto Diaz, S.Kom, MT presented a proposal with the title “Improving Governance Digital-Based Aviation Weather Information Services at Class I Meteorological Station Gusti Ngurah Rai”. This was stated in the announcement number: 0540/E/KS.06.02/2022 dated 12 July 2022 which was signed by Plt. Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., Ph.D.
To note, Kedaireka is the official platform of the Ministry of Education and Culture as a bridge between universities and partners to present the latest creations and solutions from various business problem solving, which aims to make it easier for universities to collaborate with partners, giving birth to real innovations for academic progress and business in all industries.
Meanwhile, the matching fund is a concrete form of support from the Ministry of Education and Culture to create collaboration and strategic synergy between universities and industry. Matching fund support is prioritized for collaboration that contributes to achieving the eight Main Performance Indicators of Higher Education that have been set by the Ministry of Education and Culture: Higher education graduates get decent jobs, Students gain experience off-campus, Lecturers engage in activities off-campus, Practitioners teach on-campus, Lecturer work is useful for society and is recognized internationally. Campus study programs work with world-class partners. Classes are collaborative and participatory. Study programs are of international standard. (rsn)
