ITB STIKOM Bali Introduces AR Agung ARMed to PUSDALOPS BPBD Bali

ITB STIKOM Bali conducted a visit to the BPBD Bali Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) on February 20, 2025, as part of the Appropriate Technology (TTG) Community Service. This visit was led by Ni Wayan Ari Ulandari, S.Kom., M.Kom., along with the Lecturer Team Mrs. Ni Luh Gede Pivin Suwirmayanti, S.Kom., M.T., and active ITB STIKOM Bali students. They were received directly by I Wayan Suryawan, S.STP., M.AP., as the Head of the Regional Disaster Control UPTD and his staff.

“This visit aims to convey the progress of the development of the Agung ARmed Augmented Reality (AR) application and review the results of the implementation of news creation and social media content management training for the BPBD Bali public relations team,” said I Wayan Suryawan.

The AR Agung ARmed application was developed as an innovative solution in disaster education and preparedness in Bali, especially the Agung volcano disaster, utilizing augmented reality technology to present information about Agung volcano interactively.

In this meeting, the ITB STIKOM Bali team presented the latest developments in the application, including features that have been adjusted to the needs of the Bali BPBD. The Bali BPBD gave appreciation and input to improve the effectiveness of the application in conveying disaster information to the wider community.

In addition, this visit was also part of the evaluation of the training on creating news and social media content that had been given to the Bali BPBD Pusdalops team. From the evaluation results, there was an increase in skills in compiling more systematic and informative news, as well as in creating content for social media as a means of emergency communication and disaster education
