DENPASAR – Vice Chancellor I of ITB STIKOM Bali Dr. Roy Rudolf Huizen, S.T., M.T. said that the Computer Science Masters program in the Information Systems Study Program is currently in the accreditation process from Good to Very Good.
“We are targeting at least a very good accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT),” said Roy, Saturday, January 25, 2025.
It is estimated that the results of the proposed accreditation will be released in March 2025. With a Very Good accreditation, the ITB STIKOM Bali postgraduate program can receive the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Masters program.
“The establishment permit for our master’s program was obtained on November 2, 2022 with Good Accreditation based on the fulfillment of the minimum BAN PT accreditation on August 22, 2023,” said Roy.
In the early year of its establishment, the ITB STIKOM Bali master’s program accepted the first batch of students as many as 32 people in the even academic year of 2022/2023,” said Roy.
The number of active students is currently 113 people. Around 20% of students come from outside Java and attend lectures at ITB STIKOM Bali.
“Although this program is still very new, public interest is quite high and shows the existence of ITB STIKOM Bali on a national scale,” he said.
It is said that currently the postgraduate program has graduated 10 students with an average GPA above 3.4 and a study period of 1.5 years.
Many alumni fill jobs in BUMN as well as young entrepreneurs or have software houses.
“We focus on science in the field of superior information systems, namely cyber security, medical informatics, data science and enterprise systems,” said Roy.
